Houston Texans star running back Arian Foster left a 23-6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings early in the third quarter because of an irregular heartbeat.

Foster said the irregular heartbeat is not a major problem.

“I’ll be OK,” Foster said. “It’s a very minor situation, so I’ll be OK.”

Foster had gained only 15 yards in 10 carries and had two catches for 14 yards.

The workhorse running back, who went into the game with 1,313 yards in a league-high 325 carries, also had an irregular heartbeat during a practice.

“He calms down and he’s fine,” Texans Coach Gary Kubiak said, adding the medical staff had given Foster clearance to return to the game in the fourth quarter.

“I know they’re on top of it and he’s feeling fine,” said Kubiak, who chose to sit the running back for the rest of the game.
