Have Bruins become common ground for East and West Coast rappers?

Another bad rap for USC football?

Snoop Dogg, one of the Trojans’ most prominent fans, appears to have flipped. A photograph of the rapper wearing UCLA gear made the rounds this week, and caught the eye of Bruins Coach Jim Mora.

Mora, whose musical tastes run toward Led Zeppelin, suddenly has cornered the market on big-name rappers. Justin Combs, the son of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, is a defensive back for UCLA. Dad has been a regular visitor to practice, rolling up in money-to-burn-type vehicles and parking next to Spaulding Field.

Snoop Dogg would be a coup for the Bruins. After all, he was so tied to the USC program that running back LenDale White flipped him the ball after scoring against Washington State.

“We talked during the week and I told him I was going to flip him the ball if I scored. If you noticed, he walked over to that spot just before the play,” White said after the 2005 game.

Now the Bruins may be clearing space for the Dogg Pound.
