NEW YORK -- It’s -- wait for it -- raining Wednesday at the U.S. Open and play is suspended until at least 11:30 a.m. PDT.

A few matches were completed before rain stopped play. Women’s No. 3 seed Agnieszka Radwanska beat Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor, 6-0. 7-5 and No. 5 seed Li Na was never in danger in beating Sofia Arvidsson of Sweden, 6-2, 6-2.

San Diego’s CoCo Vandeweghe, who had come through qualifying, fell to 18th-seeded Carla Surarez Navarro, 6-3, 6-4.

On the men’s side, Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus is the only man to have finished and won. He beat Japan’s Go Soeda, 6-4, 6-3, 6-1.

Coming up for the men: Andy Murray, defending champion and third seed, is playing France’s Michael Llodra in the first night match.
