RG3 consoles Tony Romo after Redskins end Cowboys’ season

Robert Griffin III has gone to the playoffs every year of his NFL career.

OK, so RG3 has only been in the league one year, but it’s still a pretty impressive accomplishment for a rookie quarterback to lead his team into the post-season.

Especially if that is the Washington Redskins, who haven’t played beyond the regular season in five years and needed seven straight wins down the stretch to punch their ticket this year.

Tony Romo has only been to the playoffs three times in his seven seasons as the Dallas Cowboys’ starting quarterback.

And he’s not going for a third straight year, thanks to a 28-18 loss Sunday night to Griffin and the Redskins -- a do-or-die game for both teams in which Romo threw three interceptions.

As the Redskins and their fans celebrated the team’s first NFC East title since 1999, Griffin made a point to track down Romo and tell him (via Pro Football Talk):

“Hey Tony. I just wanted to say to you, don’t listen to what anybody else is saying about you. You’re a great quarterback, man. And this game doesn’t mean anything.”

Pretty classy move. And yet another example of how RG3 is more than a mere rookie.
