Report: Aaron Hernandez may be linked to 2012 double fatal shooting
Investigators are looking into former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez’s links to the fatal shooting of two men that happened almost a year ago in downtown Boston, a local TV station is reporting.
According to FOX 25, police are investigating a connection between Hernandez and the July 16, 2012, shooting deaths of Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu, who were gunned down in their vehicle at an intersection just after 2 a.m.
FOX 25, citing a Boston Police blog from that date, said a third man, in the backseat, was shot but survived, and that investigators believe two others in the car fled the scene.
The station said witnesses said the gunfire came from occupants of a gray or silver SUV with Rhode Island plates.
Hernandez was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder in the execution-style slaying of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, of Dorchester, Mass.
