Keegan Bradley keeps lead at Byron Nelson

Keegan Bradley shot a one-under-par 69 in a round that started and ended with bogeys, good enough for a three-stroke lead after two rounds in the Byron Nelson Championship at Irving, Texas.

A day after setting the TPC Four Seasons course record with a 60, also with two bogeys, Bradley went into the weekend at 11-under 129. That is the lowest 36-hole total at the Nelson since 2001.

Tom Gillis, who shot 63 in the first group of the day off the No. 10 tee, and Sang-Moon Bae were tied for second. Bae had a 66.

Another stroke back were 2012 PGA Tour rookie of the year John Huh, Ryan Palmer and Charl Schwartzel. Huh shot 64, Palmer 68 and Schwartzel 70.

Defending champion Jason Dufner, playing with Bradley, had his second consecutive 70.

Jessica Korda shot a seven-under 65 to take a one-stroke lead over Hall of Famer Karrie Webb after the second round of the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic in Alabama.

Korda, the 2012 Women’s Australian Open winner, had seven birdies in her second straight bogey-free round to reach 13 under on the Crossings course at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail’s Magnolia Grove complex.

Webb also had a bogey-free round, birdieing the last three holes for a 63.

Ian Poulter was eliminated from the World Match Play Championship in Kavarna, Bulgaria, after losing another round-robin match. Poulter lost to Thomas Aiken, 1 up, at the Thracian Cliffs course when he bogeyed the last hole after missing the fairway.

Poulter lost to Thongchai Jaidee on Thursday. On Friday morning, Jaidee beat Aiken, 1 up.

Ducks Coach Bruce Boudreau was named one of three finalists for the NHL’s Jack Adams Award, given to the league’s coach of the year. It’s the first time a Ducks coach has been nominated for the award. Boudreau led the Ducks to a 30-12-6 record and the Pacific Division championship.

Joel Quenneville, who guided the Chicago Blackhawks to the NHL’s best regular season record, and Ottawa’s Paul MacLean, whose team navigated a slew of key injuries, are the other finalists. The winner will be announced during the Stanley Cup Final in June.

Novak Djokovic can’t seem to find any consistency on clay courts. And with French Open less than 10 days away, he will enter Roland Garros coming off two early losses.

The top-ranked Serb wasted a chance to serve out the match and was beaten, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4, by sixth-seeded Tomas Berdych at the Italian Open quarterfinals in Rome.

It’s the second consecutive week that Djokovic has struggled, having also lost to Grigor Dimitrov in the second round of the Madrid Open, where he was bothered by a right ankle injury.

Djokovic said he had been playing pain-free this week.

In the semifinals, Berdych will face six-time Rome champion Rafael Nadal, who defeated fellow Spaniard David Ferrer, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

In the women’s draw, top-ranked Serena Williams rolled past Spain’s Carla Suarez Navarro, 6-2, 6-0, to extend her winning streak to a career-best 22 matches.

In the other half of the women’s draw, two-time defending champion Maria Sharapova withdrew before her quarterfinal against seventh-seeded Sara Errani because of illness.

USC is second to California after two rounds of the NCAA men’s golf regional at Pullman, Wash. The Trojans trail the Bears by 11 shots. USC’s Sam Smith leads the individual race by six shots after rounds of 62 and 64.

UCLA leads the men’s golf regional at Tempe, Ariz., by 11 shots over Central Florida. UC Santa Barbara’s Glen Scher had a hole in one in a round of 70, but he is well back after an opening 79. The finals begin May 28 in Atlanta.

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Bruce Irvin was suspended for the first four games of the 2013 season after the league announced he violated the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances.

New York Jets running back Mike Goodson is facing drug and weapons charges after he was found in a car with an acquaintance early Friday morning on Interstate 80 in New Jersey.

According to state police, Goodson was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Garant Evans. After receiving a 911 call from a tow-truck driver at about 3:15 a.m., police found them stopped in the left lane of Interstate 80 west in Denville, about 25 miles west of New York City.

State Police Sgt. Adam Grossman said both men were arrested under suspicion of marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and weapons offenses stemming from a 45-caliber semi-automatic handgun found in the vehicle. Grossman wouldn’t say whether either man was the registered owner of the gun.

Evans also was arrested on suspicion of DWI, several traffic violations and possession of a weapon with a prior felony.

Alexander Povetkin stopped Andrzej Wawrzyk by a technical knockout at 2:29 of the third round to retain his WBA heavyweight title in Moscow.

The 33-year-old Russian, making is fourth successful title defense, improved to 26-0 with 18 knockouts after flooring Wawrzyk in the second round and again in the third with a right to the head. The referee allowed Wawrzyk to continue before stopping the bout with 31 seconds left in the round.

Guillermo Jones of Panama regained the WBA cruiserweight title in his first fight since 2011, stopping local favorite Denis Lebedev in the 11th round in Moscow.
