Pau Gasol to miss Tuesday’s game against Cleveland
CLEVELAND -- Lakers power forward Pau Gasol will sit out Tuesday’s game against Cleveland, missing his fifth consecutive game because of knee tendinitis.
The Lakers are 1-3 without Gasol, including a home loss Sunday to Utah.
Cleveland is a woeful 4-17, but the Lakers (9-12) can’t take anybody lightly, especially with their unimpressive 2-6 road record.
Gasol played all 65 games last season and all 82 the year before that.
Will he play Thursday in New York?
“Who knows?” he said Tuesday. “It’s an enigma.”
After Thursday’s game, the Lakers play Friday in Washington and Sunday in Philadelphia to close their four-game trip.
Gasol, 32, is averaging 12.6 points and shooting 42%, both of which would be career-lows if they didn’t improve.
