Steve Blake out indefinitely; Nash and Meeks doubtful for Friday
As the season began, so will it presumably end for the Lakers.
The Lakers announced on Thursday that Steve Blake is out indefinitely after an ultrasound confirmed a moderate strain of his right hamstring.
Steve Nash received two additional epidural injections in his back and a cortisone shot in his right hip and is considered doubtful for Game 3 against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday.
Jodie Meeks is still scheduled to have an MRI on his sprained ankle and is also doubtful for Friday.
The Spurs have a 2-0 series lead. The Lakers’ guard corps may be reduced to Darius Morris, Chris Duhon and Andrew Goudelock.
Kobe Bryant is out for the year with a torn Achilles’ tendon.
Injuries have defined the season for the Lakers. Why would that change during the postseason?
Nash missed 32 regular-season games, Blake 37 and Bryant four. Among the big men, Pau Gasol sat out 33, Jordan Hill 53 and Dwight Howard six.
