Saturday memorial service for Flynn Robinson open to the public
Memorial services will be held on Saturday for the former Lakers guard Flynn Robinson.
On Monday, the Lakers announced, “The public is welcome to join Flynn’s family and friends in a memorial service celebrating his life.”
Robinson passed away at the age of 72 on May 23, after a long battle with cancer (multiple myeloma).
The 6-foot-1 guard, who played just one season with the team, was a part of the Lakers’ NBA-record 33 consecutive win-streak and 1971-72 title.
“It was a great thing,” said Robinson of his time with the Lakers. “It was one of the best moments of my life.”
Services will be held at the West Angeles Church Performing Arts Theatre on Crenshaw Boulevard at noon.
