Lakers: Predictions for Week 6
With their Sunday night loss to the Indiana Pacers, the Lakers have two wins in 16 games, putting them last in the Western Conference.
They’ll play four road games through Week 6, visiting the Philadelphia 76ers (0-18), Washington Wizards (6-8), Atlanta Hawks (11-8) and Detroit Pistons (8-9).
Through five weeks of play, the Lakers are two wins behind the cumulative prediction of 4-12.
Tuesday at Philadelphia 76ers
The Sixers haven’t won a game, averaging just 90.8 points. Last year the team had a similar issue but played relatively well defensively -- that’s not the case this season, with Philadelphia yielding 102.8 points a night.
The Lakers may be the 76ers best chance at a victory, with the Lakers playing their third game in four nights.
Prediction: Lakers
Wednesday at Washington Wizards
The Lakers play their fourth game in five nights against a quality team, but one that has lost four straight. Look for guards John Wall and Bradley Beal to have big nights as the Wizards course correct against the Lakers.
Prediction: Wizards
Friday at Atlanta Hawks
Kobe Bryant is always a big draw in Atlanta. With Bryant announcing his retirement following the season, look for the home crowd to cheer more for the Lakers All-Star that for the Hawks.
Of course on the court, Atlanta is a lot better than the Lakers ...
Prediction: Hawks
Sunday at Detroit Pistons
The Lakers upset the Pistons in Los Angeles. Look for Detroit to return the favor.
After a hot start to the season, Detroit has fallen below .500, but the tandem of Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson should be enough to handle the Lakers on Sunday in Detroit.
Prediction: Pistons
