Nick Young hits another 4-point play, is caught celebrating missed shot

Nick Young added to his Lakers franchise record, converting his sixth four-point play on Tuesday night in a 127-96 victory over the New York Knicks.

Though the Lakers guard/forward had a productive night, scoring 20 points in just 18 1/2 minutes, one play stood out in the closing seconds of the Lakers’ franchise-record 51-point quarter.

Young pulled up to take a three-point shot, one he was so confident in, he turned to celebrate.

Instead, the ball popped in and out, prompting Young to look back when the crowd didn’t celebrate with him.

Young is the NBA’s top reserve scorer among players who have come off the bench for at least 20 games, at 18.1 points a night.

Of the 18 games Young has led the Lakers in scoring, 17 have come off the bench.

Through 52 appearances, including nine starts, Young is averaging 17.1 points on 42.5% shooting from the field and 36.9% from three-point range.
