Lakers’ Nick Young out for Jazz game tonight with knee injury
Reporting from SALT LAKE CITY — Lakers Coach Byron Scott said small forward Nick Young will not play Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz because of a swollen left knee.
Young didn’t participate in the team’s shootaround Wednesday morning in preparation for the game at EnergySolutions Arena.
Young said the knee began to bother him after Sunday night’s game against the Boston Celtics, and he didn’t practice Monday or Tuesday.
“It’s better,” Scott said. “But it’s still some swelling in there, so they’re trying to get that inflammation out as much as possible. So, we’ll just going to see how he feels tomorrow.”
The Lakers don’t play again until Friday night, when they host the Milwaukee Bucks at Staples Center.
Scott said he’ll keep the same starting lineup that he used against Boston.
Jordan Clarkson and Wayne Ellington will start in the backcourt, Ryan Kelly and Carlos Boozer at forward and Robert Sacre, who has been dealing with a sore left foot, at center.
