Kobe Bryant makes cameo in Nike soccer commercial
Lakers All-Star guard Kobe Bryant makes a cameo in Nike’s latest soccer campaign.
In a four-minute advertisement, entitled “Winner Stays,” Bryant is shown approximately 2 minutes and 23 seconds into the spot.
The list of international soccer players participating in the commercial include Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Wayne Rooney, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gonzalo Higuaín, Eden Hazard, Andrea Pirlo, Gerard Piqué, Andrés Iniesta, Mario Götze, Thiago Silva, Thibaut Courtois, Tim Howard and David Luiz.
“We connect to players’ passion for the game, whether it is the world’s best in Brazil or players in the park or street,” said Davide Grasso, Nike’s chief marketing officer, of the short film. “ ‘Winner Stays’ taps into an experience that every young player around the world will recognize -- competition with friends and the idea of playing with your heroes or pretending to be them.”
Bryant, who spent many of his formative years as a child in Italy, grew up a soccer aficionado.
The veteran guard was recently cleared to resume workouts after sitting most of the season with a knee injury.
