Kobe Bryant unveils his latest signature shoe and a ‘Kobe piano’
While sitting out all but six games this season with Achilles and knee issues, Kobe Bryant apparently had time to build a custom piano.
At least that’s the premise of his latest Nike commercial.
“The sound alone could end war,” promises the narrator. “It would be the grandest, grand masterpiece of grand pianos.”
While the spot features Lionel Richie playing on a piano in the shape of Bryant’s logo, the narrator admits that Bryant did not, in fact, make the instrument.
Instead, Bryant is responsible for the “Kobe 9 Collection,” his latest signature shoe.
After spending the first part of the year recovering from an April Achilles tear, Bryant made his season debut Dec. 8 in a loss to the Toronto Raptors.
On Dec. 17, Bryant suffered a knee fracture and has been sidelined ever since. Through his six appearances, Bryant averaged 13.8 points with 6.3 assists.
