Kobe Bryant, Metta World Peace read mean tweets on ‘Kimmel Live’
Twitter has become an integral part of the NBA experience. Fans are able to reach out to their favorite players — although they don’t always come with the greatest of intentions.
On Sunday, Jimmy Kimmel aired a segment entitled “Mean Tweets: NBA Edition” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
An assortment of NBA players including Lakers Kobe Bryant and Metta World Peace read real, mean-spirited tweets on the air. The segment played for laughs, but the original tweets were mostly outlandish.
“Remember when Kobe Bryant used to dunk and it wasn’t a surprise? Now every time he dunks, it is a big deal,” Bryant read.
“I remember that,” the All-Star guard replied with a grin.
“What’s the difference between Ron and Metta World Peace? Nothing. They are both huge pieces of ...,” World Peace read.
“Whatever man,” the Lakers forward replied, while eating an apple.
“You in that Buick commercial. You know [you] don’t fit in that Buick,” former Lakers Shaquille O’Neal read.
Clippers Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Matt Barnes and DeAndre Jordan also participated, along with Rajon Rondo, Andre Iguodala, analysts Bill Simmons, Greg Anthony and Bob Costas.
