Behind the scenes with Kobe Bryant and Lionel Messi
The Turkish Airlines’ commercial starring Kobe Bryant and Lionel Messi, soccer’s player of the year, has become the “most-watched [ad] ever on YouTube,” according to AdWeek.
The spot beat out the Angry Birds cinematic trailer and Evian’s Roller Babies commercial. The original video, embedded below, has already climbed to almost 102 million views.
In the clip, Bryant and Messi compete for the attention of a young boy, who ultimately opts for ice cream over either sports star’s antics.
The “behind the scenes” clip is at a more modest 100,000 views, but shows Bryant and Messi on set as they shoot the spot.
Bryant, Messi and tennis star Caroline Wozniacki are “global brand ambassadors” for Turkish Airlines.
Bryant signed an endorsement deal with Turkish Airlines in 2010.
