Lakers’ initial Las Vegas summer league schedule announced

The NBA announced its Las Vegas summer league schedule on Wednesday, featuring 22 teams competing in a 61-game schedule.

The Lakers will make their debut on the league’s opening night July 12, playing the Cleveland Cavaliers.

NBA TV will televise a full slate of games, held at both the Thomas & Mack Center and COX Pavilion.

The Lakers are initially scheduled to play three games:

Friday, July 12: Cleveland Cavaliers — 5 p.m.
Sunday, July 14: Portland Trail Blazers — 3:30 p.m.
Monday, July 15: Clippers — 5 p.m.

Teams will compete in three preliminary-round games July 12-16 before being seeded in a tournament running through the championship game July 22. Each team is guaranteed to play at least five games. The winner will be crowned “the first ever NBA Summer League Champion.”

The Lakers haven’t announced their roster yet but free-agent forward Marcus Landry is expected to be on team.
