Lakers unveil new ‘Hollywood Nights’ alternative black jersey
The Lakers unveiled their “Hollywood Nights” black jersey on Wednesday via Twitter.
The team will wear the Hollywood Nights jersey on selected games throughout the season.
The Lakers will also wear a white, sleeved jersey on occasion (including Christmas Day against the Miami Heat).

“Hollywood is also a really hard-working town. That’s the major industry of this city. It’s the heartbeat,” said Lakers owner/executive Jeanie Buss in a video clip released on Lakers.com. “Hollywood Nights is a tribute to all those people.”
Last month, the Lakers teased their new alternate jersey via Instagram.

“This has been a few years in the process of introducing a black Lakers uniform,” said Buss. “In no way will it ever replace the purple and gold, traditional uniform that has seen so many championships won.”
The Lakers start the regular season at home on Oct. 29 against the Clippers.
