Here’s how The Times’ Bill Shaikin ranks the 30 major league teams this week:

1. OAKLAND: Trout or Cabrera? Try 3B Josh Donaldson, who has outhomered both and leads the majors in runs. (4)

2. TORONTO: 1B Edwin Encarnacion hit 16 home runs in May. The Royals hit 13. The Cardinals hit 11. (2)

3. SAN FRANCISCO: In 2000, Tim Hudson was second in AL Cy Young vote, going 20-6 with a 4.14 ERA. He began 2014 at 6-2, 1.75. (1)

4. MILWAUKEE: Carlos Gomez, not Ryan Braun, is Brewers OF in All-Star voting. He and Puig would be some fun together. (5)

5. DETROIT: Tigers shortstops have six extra-base hits. So do the Cubs’ pitchers. (3)

6. ANGELS: Record with Trout, Pujols and Hamilton all in starting lineup: 4-7. Record without all three in lineup: 28-21. (6)

7. MIAMI: That’s a creative bullpen solution: trade a second-round draft pick to add relievers Kevin Gregg, Bryan Morris. (9)
