Arizona State beats Oregon State, 30-17

Marion Grice ran for 118 yards and two touchdowns, Robert Nelson returned his second interception 23 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, and No. 21 Arizona State overcame a second half lull to beat Oregon State, 30-17, on Saturday night.

Arizona State (8-2, 6-1 Pac-12) dominated the first half to take a 20-0 lead before stumbling through the third quarter. The Sun Devils halted Oregon State’s momentum with a blocked field goal in the fourth quarter and put it out of reach when Nelson raced in on Sean Mannion’s fourth interception of the game.

Arizona State has won five straight and 19 of 20 at home against Oregon State (6-4, 4-3), which has lost three straight overall.

Mannion threw for 320 yards and two touchdowns, but has seven of his 10 interceptions this season in the last two games.

Grice scored on a pair of one-yard runs to become the third Arizona State player to score 20 touchdowns in a season, joining Terry Battle, who had 20 in 1996, and Wilford White, with 22 in 1950.

at Oregon 44, Utah 21: Marcus Mariota threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns, and the sixth-ranked Ducks rebounded from last week’s loss to Stanford with a victory over Utah. De’Anthony Thomas caught a touchdown pass and scored on an 86-yard kickoff return for the Ducks (9-1, 6-1 in the Pac-12 Conference).

Washington State 24, at Arizona 17: Connor Halliday threw 25 yards to Isiah Myers for the tiebreaking touchdown with 2 minutes 15 seconds to play to give Washington State (5-5, 3-4) an upset victory. Halliday completed 39 of 53 passes for 319 yards and two scores, his seventh 300-yard passing of the season. Ka’Deem Carey scored both touchdowns for Arizona (6-4, 3-4), on a 30-yard run and a seven-yard reception from B.J. Denker.

at Colorado 41, California 24: Sefo Liufau threw for a career-high 364 yards and Paul Richardson tied a team record for receptions in a contest with 11 to help Colorado snap a 14-game conference losing streak by beating slumping California.
