Mavericks blow by Warriors, 114-91

The Golden State Warriors flopped without Stephen Curry, getting blown out for only their second loss this season, this time losing to the host Dallas Mavericks, 114-91, Wednesday night.

J.J. Barea scored 23 points to lead the Mavericks to their fourth consecutive victory.

Curry sat out his first game this season because of a leg bruise. But the Warriors (29-2) still have the best 31-game start in NBA history, a game better than four teams.

Klay Thompson couldn’t make up for Curry’s absence, making only four of 15 shots and finishing with 10 points. Ian Clark led the Warriors with 21 points.

Zaza Pachulia had 14 points and 15 rebounds, and Dirk Nowitzki had 18 and eight rebounds for the Mavericks.

at Chicago 102, Indiana 100 (OT): Jimmy Butler tipped in a winning basket with 1.2 seconds left in overtime.

Butler scored 28 points and Aaron Brooks had 29 points to help Chicago win for the third time in the last four games. Butler scored 15 points in the fourth quarter and overtime combined.

On the final play, Butler tipped in Pau Gasol’s lob from atop the key. Butler then defended Paul George on a lob to preserve the victory.

George Hill had 20 points for Indiana, which shot 38.1% from the field.

at Toronto 94, Washington 91: DeMar DeRozan had 34 points, six rebounds and five assists to lead the Raptors.

DeRozan made all of his 15 free throws.

Terrence Ross had 14 points for the Raptors and Bismack Biyombo, who started the previous 18 games at center in place of injured Jonas Valanciunas, had 12 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks.

Otto Porter led the Wizards with 20 points and nine rebounds.

at San Antonio 112, Phoenix 79: LaMarcus Aldridge had 21 points and 12 rebounds, and the Spurs won at home for the 19th consecutive time, a franchise record.

The Spurs extended their franchise-record home winning streak to 28 games dating to last season by holding the Suns to several season lows.

Phoenix had season lows for total points, first-half points (33) and points in the opening quarter (12).

at Minnesota 94, Utah 80: Karl-Anthony Towns had 25 points and 10 rebounds, and the Timberwolves held off a late charge by the Jazz.

Minnesota’s Ricky Rubio tied a career high with 17 assists.

Trey Burke scored 23 points for Utah, all in the second half. The Jazz shot 35% and was 10 for 39 (25.6%) on three-point shots.

Orlando 100, at Brooklyn 93: Nik Vucevic had 20 points and nine rebounds, and the Magic rallied in the fourth quarter for its seventh victory in the last nine games.

Vucevic has scored 20 points or more in seven consecutive games.

The Magic trailed for most of the second half, but used a 9-0 run late in the third quarter to cut into what had been a double-digit deficit. Orlando outscored Brooklyn, 32-20, in the final period.

Brook Lopez led the Nets with 24 point and 15 rebounds. Bojan Bogdanovic had 20 points.
