LONDON -- The fastest female swimmer in the world?

Ranomi Kromowidjojo.

It was the same one-two finish as the 100 freestyle on Thursday night. Finishing second to Kromowidjojo again was Aliaksandra Herasimenia of Belarus (24.28) and veteran sprinter Marleen Veldhuis of the Netherlands took the bronze (24.39).

Britta Steffen of Germany, who won the sprint double four years ago in Beijing, was fourth and American Jessica Hardy placed seventh.
