Update: This is the third and final regular-season game between these Western Conference rivals that have been heading in opposite directions. Colorado won the teams’ first match of the season, 1-0, on May 3 and the Galaxy defeated the Rapids, 4-3, on Aug. 20, with both games played in Colorado. The Galaxy most recently shut out Chivas USA, 3-0, at StubHub Center for its fourth consecutive victory and is now second in the conference. Colorado lost, 1-0, to the Seattle Sounders on Saturday to extend the Rapids’ losing streak to six games, tying a club record. Colorado is now seventh in the conference standings.
