The Sparks are in second place in the Western Conference, 21/2 games behind first-place Minnesota with eight games remaining, including four at home. The Sky is in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, half a game ahead of New York. The top four teams in each conference advance to the playoffs. Sylvia Fowles and Epiphanny Prince lead the Sky, each averaging 17.6 points per game. Kristi Toliver has become the top scorer for the Sparks, averaging 18.7 points and five rebounds.
