Alex Rodriguez, who continues to appeal his unprecedented 211-game suspension, denies a report that says a member of his “inner circle” leaked documents linking Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun to the Biogenesis performance-enhancing drug case.

A report by CBS’ “60 Minutes” show said unnamed sources claimed Rodriguez’s camp was responsible for the handing over of documents that linked Yankees teammate Frank Cervelli and Braun to the Biogenesis scandal.

The Yankees third baseman told reporters in Boston on Friday night that the report “was not true at all” and that it was simply an attempt to alienate A-Rod from other players.

“Let’s make one thing clear,” Rodriguez said, “for the next seven weeks, it’s going to be a very, very bumpy road. Every day, expect a story like this, if not bigger.”

Braun and Cervelli were two of a dozen players who accepted suspensions levied by Major League Baseball on Aug. 5 for using performance-enhancing drugs supplied by Biogenesis of America, a Florida-based anti-aging clinic.

Braun was suspended for 65 games, or the rest of the season, while Cervelli was given a 50-game penalty, which is mandatory when violating baseball’s drug policy the first time. Braun’s penalty was more harsh because he had a positive test dismissed last year on a technicality and he vehemently denied he had ever used PEDs.

“I spoke to Cervelli this morning,” Rodriguez said Friday. “He understands that it’s not true. We’re on the same page.”
