Red Sox to wear special ‘Boston’ jerseys in return to play
The Red Sox return to play Saturday at Fenway Park in Boston with a day game against the Kansas City Royals, one day after the capture of the second suspect in the bombings at the marathon Monday.
The Red Sox’s home uniforms will feature the city’s name instead of their nickname across their chests.
The famed Green Monster, Fenway Park’s 37-foot-high wall in left field, is emblazoned with the “B Strong” logo that stands for Boston Strong. Players will wear a B Strong patch on the front of their jersey just above their hearts.
The team let the fans know via Twitter before the game about the change in jerseys.

The moment is not lost on the players, who took part in stirring pregame ceremonies to honor the first responders, police, victims and their families before the game Saturday.
“This is a city that will count on us, and I understand that,” outfielder Shane Victorino said. “You might not see smiles on people’s faces, but you understand this is a trying time. This is a time for people in the city to embrace themselves and to go out there and be a part of that for this city.”
The Red Sox postponed their game against the Royals on Friday night as the manhunt continued for the younger of two brothers suspected in the bombings near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Three people died and hundreds were maimed and injured when two bombs more than a block apart exploded 4 hours and 10 minutes after the start of the race. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was captured Friday night in Watertown, Mass., a day after his older brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, was killed during a chase and gunfight with police. The brothers are also suspected of killing a police officer at MIT.
The Red Sox and Royals will make up the Friday game with a doubleheader on Sunday.
The Boston Bruins, who last played on Thursday night, moved their game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday to Saturday afternoon. The Boston Celtics will play the New York Knicks in the start of their first-round playoff series later Saturday.
