Chivas de Guadalajara to play September friendly at StubHub Center
Mexican megaclub Chivas de Guadalajara will play Liga MX rival Leon in a friendly soccer game on Sept. 5 at the StubHub Center.
Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. game went on sale at noon Friday here.
The exhibition will be played during a FIFA international break, which caused a brief pause in the competitive Liga MX schedule.
The match is also the final in a five-game U.S. tour sponsored by beer maker Tecate.
A free fan fest will precede the game on Sept. 4 at a location to be announced.
“Part of the reason Tecate became the official sponsor for all Chivas activities was so that we could give people more access to one of their favorite teams,” Gustavo Guerra, brand director for the company, said in a statement. “After creating a summer full of amazing match-ups, we wanted to go out with a bang. Through this two-day culmination event which combines fan appreciation and one of the best soccer matches of the preseason, we believe we’ve done just that.”
