Watch kids boo NJ Gov. Chris Christie for being a Cowboys fan
Chris Christie might have committed political suicide Tuesday. Luckily the members of his audience were all well under voting age.
While admitting “is not the smartest thing for the governor of New Jersey to be,” Christie told a group of students at a school in central New Jersey his favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys.
His announcement was met with a resounding chorus of boos, with maybe a few cheers scattered in there.
The Cowboys are NFC East division rivals of the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles, both of which have large fan bases in New Jersey.
But the governor had already admitted to being a fan of the Cowboys -- as well as the more locally acceptable New York Mets, Knicks and Rangers -- back in 2010.
“I was a big fan when I was your age,” Christie told the kids of the Cowboys.
