Clippers still searching for third big man
Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said he still was trying to figure out who the third big man will be behind starters Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.
Ryan Hollins played that role against the Lakers on Tuesday night. Center Byron Mullens and forward Antawn Jamison didn’t play against the Lakers.
“I’m going to go back and forth on that,” Rivers said. “Hopefully, eventually, someone separates himself and there is no decision. Right now, there’s a decision to make every night with that.”
Rivers also said the Clippers decided to play small-ball against the Lakers, which meant there wasn’t any time for Mullens and Jamison because Jared Dudley and Matt Barnes played a lot of power forward.
The Golden State team that the Clippers play Wednesday night at Staples Center in their home season opener plays big and small with its versatile lineup.
So Rivers probably still won’t know who is third big man will be by then.
