After the Clippers got a win in Memphis on Thursday in the second night of back-to-back games, Coach Doc Rivers gave his team Friday off.

But Rivers had the Clippers working hard at a shoot-around Saturday morning in preparation for their game that night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“Our preparation, it’s almost a review,” Rivers said. “It’s not like we’re going to come in and have a whole new defense. But we just review what we’re doing every day.

“It’s the same thing on offense. It’s the same stuff. Repetition creates habits.”

The Cavaliers are 6-13 and have lost seven of their last 10 games, but that doesn’t mean the Clippers will take the Cavaliers lightly.

So the Clippers worked out before the game to make sure they are ready.

“You want them to just get in the gym, really,” Rivers said. “When you take a day off, it’s good they get a ball in their hands before they show up for a game.”
