Clippers keep roster together, make no trades
The Clippers did their due diligence just as they said they would, taking phone calls from other teams, making calls to teams and listening to offers.
But in the end, the Clippers didn’t make a trade before Thursday’s noon PST deadline, preferring to stick with this team for the stretch run.
Gary Sacks, the Clippers’ vice president of basketball operations, told The Times on Saturday that he hadn’t called any teams about Eric Bledsoe or DeAndre Jordan despite reports that the two players were in trade discussions.
Sacks said teams had called the Clippers about the availability of the 23-year-old Bledsoe and 25-year-old Jordan, the most notable being those two in a trade for Boston Celtics center Kevin Garnett.
But even Clippers Coach Vinny Del Negro had said the team wasn’t interested in making any moves.
“There is nothing that Gary has brought to me that he feels and I feel is something that we would feel comfortable doing at all,” Del Negro said after practice on Tuesday.
The Clippers have 26 regular-season games left, starting with tonight’s game against the San Antonio Spurs at Staples Center.
