Reggie Wayne among the injured NFL stars in Week 7
Sunday was brutal when it came to NFL injuries, and the star players weren’t spared.
St. Louis quarterback Sam Bradford and Houston linebacker Brian Cushing suffered season-ending knee injuries; Green Bay tight end Jermichael Finley was carted off the field with a neck injury and remained in the hospital Sunday night; and a groin injury ended the day for Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler.
In the night game, Indianapolis receiver Reggie Wayne’s right knee twisted awkwardly as he tried to catch a low ball that was slightly off target. He had to be helped off the field, and his availability for the rest of the season is unclear. He’s due to undergo an MRI today.
“It stinks to the nth degree,” said quarterback Andrew Luck, whose team beat Peyton Manning’s Denver Broncos, 39-33.
“We hope for the best. Really, I don’t know much. But I put a lot of blame on myself for missing. I don’t think there was anybody within a square-mile of him it seemed like and I missed it, so not happy about that. But we’ll see.”
