Erin Andrews explains awkward 50 Cent kiss

Last week, Erin Andrews was reporting from pit row at the Daytona 500 when she interviewed rapper 50 Cent, who leaned in for a kiss. Andrews turned her head quickly and rushed off, leaving many to speculate that she was unhappy with the rapper for attempting to kiss her on air.

Not true, Andrews says.

“It was my fault. I was rushed -- none of the drivers were in their spot for the Daytona 500 pit walk. They were all in the bathroom,” Andrews told “Access Hollywood” on Wednesday.

It was then that she spotted 50 Cent in the crowd, and with no drivers around to interview, she went to him for a word.

“I went and said hello to him. We’re actually business partners,” she said. “He grabbed me, I went one way, they screamed ‘Danica,’ I whipped my neck, I got whiplash and it’s fine.”

Andrews is a spokeswoman for SK Energy, the energy drink company cofounded by 50 Cent.
