IndyCar Series plans day-long Fontana test session free to public
IndyCar Series drivers are scheduled to hold a day-long test session next Monday at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana that’s free to the public, the track said Tuesday.
The testing session, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., is to prepare the teams for the MAVTV 500 at the two-mile oval speedway on Aug. 30, the season finale for the series.
Drivers tentatively scheduled to take part include reigning IndyCar champion Scott Dixon, three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves, former Indy 500 winner Juan Pablo Montoya and last year’s Indy 500 winner, Tony Kanaan.
Spectators will be allowed to watch the session from the Terrace Suite rooftops above pit road.
