Did Justin Bieber jinx the Pittsburgh Steelers before loss to Jets?

The Pittsburgh Steelers were arguably the hottest team in the NFL going into last weekend, with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger throwing an NFL record 12 touchdowns in blowout wins over the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens, two pretty decent teams themselves.

But then the Steelers inexplicably laid a huge egg against the New York Jets, who hadn't won a game in two months. And just as inexplicably, Roethlisberger didn't manage a touchdown pass until the final minutes against one of the worst passing defenses in the NFL.

Wait, did I say "inexplicably?" Oh, there's definitely an explanation.

And it's name is Justin Bieber:

See, it's cool when guys like Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa are on your bandwagon. But when it's the Biebs, who is detested by anyone over the age 10, we like to call that a jinx.

Roethlisberger told Pittsburgh's 93.7 The Fan that Bieber's visit was "not a big deal at all" and that "people stop by all of the time and say, 'Hi,' and we've had other athletes, actors, celebrities, stuff like that stop by."

But none of those folks are jinxed like Bieber seems to be. Spain crashed and burned at the World Cup after he was seen wearing one of their jerseys. Plus, the heartthrob recently was in attendance for home-opener losses for the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks.

Of course, we conspiracy theorists will conveniently ignore Bieber's close friendship with the still-undefeated Floyd Mayweather. And, chances are, he has attended plenty of other games where his team of choice actually won.

No, it's much easier -- and more fun -- to blame Bieber.
