The Clippers signed former Lakers point guard Darius Morris to a 10-day contract Monday night, and he was scheduled to be in uniform for the game later that night against the Orlando Magic at Staples Center.

Morris played 12 games with the Philadelphia 76ers this season before he was waived.

He’s averaged 4.1 points and 1.7 assists in 79 games over his three-year NBA career.

Morris, who is 6-foot-4, started 17 games for the Lakers during the 2012-13 season.

The Clippers needed Morris to be a backup point guard because Chris Paul is out for up to six weeks with a joint separation of his right shoulder.

“I don’t know if that resolves it yet,” Coach Doc Rivers said about having the right backup for starter Daren Collison. “We’re just going to keep looking around. We have some flexibility there, so we’re just going to keep doing it.”
