NASCAR’s Kasey Kahne takes dispute with Kyle Busch to Michigan

Kasey Kahne, still annoyed about a crash with Kyle Busch last weekend, arrived in Michigan saying he doesn’t even want to talk to Busch anymore.

So naturally Kahne and Busch will start next to each other on Sunday in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series Quicken Loans 400 after qualifying Friday at Michigan International Speedway.

Kevin Harvick won the pole position while Kahne qualified 13th and Busch 14th at the two-mile Michigan oval in Brooklyn, Mich.

Kahne crashed hard into the wall at Pennyslvania’s Pocono Raceway last Sunday after making contact with Busch, who was racing his No. 18 Toyota to the inside of Kahne’s No. 5 Chevrolet. Kahne asserted that Busch “ran me right in the wall.”

Asked Friday if he and Busch had spoken since then, Kahne told reporters that Busch sent him an email, then “a text to ask if I got” the email.

“I told him I did, and that is how it went,” Kahne said, according to a transcript from Team Chevy. “I don’t really care anymore. I don’t care to talk to him or anything.”

Busch’s lone victory this year came at Fontana and the Joe Gibbs Racing driver is sixth in the Sprint Cup Series point standings through 14 races.

Kahne, who drives for Hendrick Motorsports, is looking for his first win of the season and sits 21st in the standings.

However, Kahne and Busch have one career victory each at Michigan International.
