Forward Gordon Hayward, a restricted free agent, will return to the Utah Jazz after the club matched the four-year, $63-million offer sheet from the Charlotte Hornets while the Memphis Grizzlies agreed to terms with veteran swingman Vince Carter.

The agent for the 6-foot-8 Hayward, who averaged career highs of 16.2 points, 5.2 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals last season, confirmed the deal on Saturday after it was first reported by Yahoo Sports.

Utah has not confirmed that it matched the Hornets’ offer.

The 37-year-old Carter, an eight-time All-Star who was a key reserve for the Dallas Mavericks last season, received a multi-year deal, according to the Grizzlies’ website, although terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Carter, who is 6-foot-6 and can play guard or small forward, averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists a game for the Mavericks, who were looking to bolster their perimeter shooting. Carter has career shooting percentages of 44.2% from the field, 37.8% from three-point range and 79.9% from the free-throw line.

In other free-agency news, power forward Chris Bosh announced via Twitter that he has accepted an offer, believed to be the maximum five-year, $118-million deal, to stay with the Miami Heat.

“Ready for the next challenge in my career. #HeatNation goes on,” the 6-foot-10, nine-time All-Star tweeted.

Bosh averaged 16.2 points on 51.6% shooting and 6.6 rebounds a game last season. The 11-year veteran has career averages of 19.2 points and 8.7 rebounds.

The Phoenix Suns officially announced the acquisition of point guard Isaiah Thomas in a sign-and-trade deal with the Sacramento Kings. The deal had been reported by multiple outlets on Friday.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, one day after landing four-time MVP LeBron James, have acquired center Brendan Haywood and forward Dwight Powell from Charlotte for guard Scotty Hopson and cash considerations.
