John Mara and Carmen Policy are hoping for a vote next week on NFL relocation to L.A.

Reporting from NEW YORK — New York Giants co-owner John Mara said that there’s widespread hope among NFL owners that a return to the Los Angeles market is right around the corner.
“Everybody’s hope is that we have a vote next week in Houston and end this thing,” Mara, a member of the Committee on Los Angeles Opportunities, said Wednesday morning at league headquarters.
Mara is among the owners attending meetings Wednesday and possibly Thursday, a gathering of the stadium, finance and L.A. committees.
The St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders have submitted relocation applications to move to the nation’s second largest market. The Chargers and Raiders have a plan to play their home games in Carson, the Rams in Inglewood.
The competing groups will give presentations to the gathered committees Wednesday morning, with the Rams going first, followed by Carmen Policy, who is presenting on behalf of the Chargers and Raiders.
Asked if he thinks a resolution to the 20-year vacancy is at hand, Policy said: “I do. I think there are definitely going to be votes next week. Where it comes out, I can’t say.”
The league has not decided if the format will be multiple votes or a single vote giving a team or teams the green light to move.
