Ducks defenseman Mark Fistric out for homestand

Ducks defenseman Mark Fistric said Monday he expects to at least miss this week’s three-game homestand because of continued discomfort from a lower-body nerve injury.

With the Ducks set to play the Winnipeg Jets on Monday night, Fistric left Honda Center prior to the morning skate for an MRI to help diagnose the source of the pain that has sidelined him since he played more than 14 minutes against the Kings at Staples Center on March 15.

The Ducks (48-18-8) are to play Winnipeg (33-33-9), Edmonton (Wednesday) and Nashville (Friday) this week before traveling to Edmonton and Vancouver for a April 6-7 back-to-back.

Fistric is plus-nine in goal differential with 28 penalty minutes in 34 games.

Meanwhile, Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf said he has recovered and will play Monday night after he was struck in the lower leg by a puck and was removed from the game as a precaution late in Saturday’s 5-1 victory in Vancouver.

Forward Jakob Silfverberg said he can play too, after being struck in the chin with a high stick Saturday and getting six stitches.
