Stock car racing rage incident ends with wild ride

Over the years, there have been plenty of great racing feuds, but the man vs. man-in-machine struggle that took place on a North Carolina track last weekend might be the greatest of them all.

According to the Winston-Salem (N.C.) Journal, the latest example of racing rage occurred Saturday shortly before Derek Stoltz won a 20-lap late-model stock car race at Bowman Gray Stadium. On his way to winning, Stoltz spun out race leader Bryant Robertson and also sent Robertson’s brother, Mike, into a spin.

Mike Robertson had a problem with Stoltz’s on-track antics and decided to confront him on the track -- and that’s when Robertson went on the wildest ride of his life.

Stoltz accelerated when Robertson latched on to his car, and Robertson was dragged alongside the car for about 30 yards until he was flung into the wall.

So it looks as if Robertson’s confrontation didn’t go as planned. Maybe he can get a few pointers from this fellow stock car feuder:
