Tim Tebow wouldn’t seem to be in a position to be picky about his employment opportunities -- not after being cut by the New England Patriots days before the start of the NFL season.

Still, if a report by Sports Illustrated’s Peter King on NBC’s “2013 NFL Kickoff” show is true, Tebow wanted nothing to do with an NFL team that expressed interest in him in recent days -- provided he played a position other than quarterback.

The name of the team and the position it wanted the former Heisman Trophy winner to play were not mentioned.

At least Tebow knows what he wants to do with his life. That’s more than a lot of us can say.

He is said to not even be considering trying to hone his craft in Canada or arena football. He wants to play in the NFL and he wants to do it as a quarterback.

Tebow said as much in a series of tweets following his release by the Patriots last weekend. “ I will remain in relentless pursuit of continuing my lifelong dream of being an NFL quarterback,” he wrote.

Well, after three seasons in the NFL, it’s pretty safe to assume that Tebow doesn’t have any kind of immediate cash-flow issues.

So if he still wants to keep pursuing a job as quarterback in the most elite football league -- even after being traded by two teams and cut by another -- who are we to suggest he do otherwise?
