UCLA football: Shaquelle Evans looking to impress NFL GMs
UCLA’s Shaquelle Evans has some unfinished business, which he intends to wrap up in Alabama.
Evans, a senior, was invited to play in the Senior Bowl on Jan. 25, an all-star showcase game for NFL general managers and scouts.
“It is something I have worked for since the end of last year,” Evans said. “It’s a big game for seniors. I wanted to make sure I got there.”
Evans leads the Bruins with 43 receptions for 617 yards and eight touchdowns. He has 122 receptions for 1,803 yards and 13 touchdowns in three years at UCLA.
Evans has also been an extremely effective blocker down field in support of the running game.
It’s not enough, he said.
“I didn’t have the numbers that I expected to have this year,” Evans said. “I played well but I’m still under the radar. So I have to go there and improve my draft spot. This game is huge for me.”
