The Denver Broncos reportedly could be without star pass rusher Von Miller for the first six games of the season.

Miller is facing a six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance policy, and the decision could come as early as Monday, although the sides are still negotiating the number of games he will sit out, according to an ESPN report. The potential suspension was originally thought to be four games.

The report said Miller is not likely to appeal the decision.

The Broncos play host to Baltimore -- and Denver’s former star defensive end Elvis Dumervil -- in the Sept. 5 Kickoff Opener, then in the next five games play at the Giants, home against the Raiders and Eagles, at the Cowboys, and home against the Jaguars.

Denver is just one of the powerhouse teams from the West who will be without at least one key player. Seattle lost receiver Percy Harvin, and San Francisco lost receiver Michael Crabtree, both to injuries.
