Former WWE champion Daniel Bryan catches suspected burglar
Former WWE heavyweight champion Daniel Bryan is not a man you want to face in the ring.
He’s also not the guy you want to burglarize as two suspected criminals found out firsthand this week.
Bryan Danielson, who goes by Daniel Bryan when he’s body-slamming opponents or applying the “Yes!” lock, returned to his Phoenix area home Thursday night after an appearance at Comic-Con in San Diego and surprised two burglars exiting his house, according to the Associated Press.
As the two suspects fled, the 5-foot-10, 210-pound wrestler, who underwent neck surgery in May, chased down one of the alleged burglars, 22-year-old Cesar Sosa. A struggle ensued and you can guess who emerged victorious.
Reporters asked Danielson whether he used some of his signature moves while apprehending the suspect.
“The fun answer would be that I put him in the ‘Yes!’ lock, but that isn’t actually what happened,” Danielson said at a news conference Friday.
Danielson said the suspect didn’t appear to be in very good shape and “it literally took zero effort to take him down.”
His main concern after subduing the suspect was applying enough force to restrain him without doing enough to get sued.
Sosa was arrested on suspicion of burglary. Police are still searching for the second individual.
