USC’s Adoree’ Jackson finishes fifth in long jump at NCAA championships
Adoree’ Jackson is a two sport All-American in his freshman year at USC.
Jackson leaped 25 feet, 11 inches Wednesday to finish fifth in the long jump at the NCAA track and field championships in Eugene, Ore.
The mark earned him first-team All-American honors.
Florida senior Marquis Dendy leaped 27 feet, 8 inches to win the championship.
After the meet Jackson tweeted, “Don’t get me wrong it’s a blessing but being who I am, I am not satisfied #FINAO.”
Jackson won the Pac-12 championship on May 16 when he jumped 25 feet, 3 inches at UCLA’s Drake Stadium.
The Football Writers Assn. of America named Jackson a Freshman All-American after he started at cornerback, returned kicks and also played receiver during the 2014 season.
He caught 10 passes, three for touchdowns. He also broke up 10 passes and averaged 29.7 yards per kickoff return.
