Max Tuerk, Antwaun Woods on Outland Trophy watchlist
USC center Max Tuerk and defensive tackle Antwaun Woods were named to the watchlist for the Outland Trophy, presented annually by the Football Writers Assn. of America to college football’s top interior lineman.
Tuerk, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound senior, was All-Pac-12 Conference last season. He also has started at tackle and guard.
Woods, a 6-foot-1, 320-pound senior, made 37 tackles in 2014, including one sack.
Woods had surgery in December after suffering a pectoral muscle injury. He did not participate in spring practice but is expected to be ready for the start of the season.
USC opens training camp Aug. 8.
