USC coaches visit the home of 2016 recruit Connor Murphy
Connor Murphy, an elite recruit in the 2016 class, received a visit from USC Coach Clay Helton, defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast and assistant Kenechi Udeze at his Phoenix area home Wednesday.
“Good way to top off the day! Proud to say I was Coach Pendergast’s first in-home visit!” Murphy wrote on Twitter.
The 6-foot-7, 250-pound defensive end met Pendergast, who was hired earlier this month, and other new staff members last weekend during an official visit to USC.
Before the visit Wednesday from USC coaches, Murphy hosted Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh for a buzzed-about sleepover that continued into the day with Harbaugh joining Murphy for classes at Brophy College Preparatory.
Murphy will make an official visit to Michigan this weekend and will end the month with a visit to Alabama. He visited Oregon in November.
Murphy has listed Michigan, Alabama, USC, Oregon and Arizona State as his favorite schools. He said he would announce a commitment on signing day, Feb. 3.
USC has 14 players committed in its 2016 recruiting class, including defensive linemen Liam Jimmons from Huntington Beach, Keyshon Camp from Lake Gibson Senior in Lakeland, Fla., and Oluwole Betiku from Gardena Serra.
Betiku has enrolled in spring semester courses at USC.
