Bike your way through Santa Barbara’s wine country
Swirl, sip and cycle your way through Santa Barbara wine country on a six-day tour that includes gourmet picnic lunches served in vineyards, playtime along the Santa Barbara coast and wine tasting at vineyards along the route.
The Vines to Coast tours, organized by Santa Barbara Wine Country Cycling, begin with daily bicycle rides through the Santa Ynez Valley.
The valley is a bike-friendly community 30 miles from Santa Barbara known for its vineyards and rolling hills.
Besides wine tasting, chocolate, olive oil and beer tasting are available on this trip, as well as spa treatments and massages.
After more than four days of cycling, the tour moves to the Santa Barbara coast to give participants time to relax. The tour company can customize routes and accommodate riders of different abilities.
Dates: Sept. 4 to 9 and 25 to 30, Oct. 23 to 28, Nov. 13 to 18. Shorter tours also available.
Price: The six-day tour starts at $2,199 per person, double occupancy. Included are accommodations, some meals, tour guides, a choice of high-end road or hybrid bike rentals, and transportation from the Santa Barbara airport. Transportation to Santa Barbara is not included.
