Ski Butlers rental delivery service expands to 37 resorts in the West

More reasons to leave your skis and snowboards at home this winter season. Utah-based Ski Butlers rental delivery outfit has added Sun Valley, Idaho, and Big Sky, Mont., to the 35 resorts it serves in the western United States and British Columbia, Canada. In addition, it now has a service center in the Park City Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

Launched in 2003, Ski Butlers eliminates the need for schlepping skis and snowboards on airplanes, often at a hefty price. Moreover, the company says, the cost for its personalized rental, delivery and fittings are competitive with ski shops, where lines are often long on weekends.

In California, the company services Tahoe-area resorts, including Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows, Northstar California, Sugar Bowl Resort and Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe.

Ski Butlers, which has earned a number of TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence ratings and other awards for its customer service, says it also provides on-mountain adjustments or equipment replacement within 30 minutes of a phone call. It also does pickups on the final rental day.

Equipment can be delivered from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the hour. Equipment delivered at 2 p.m. or later will not be charged that day. Pickup usually occurs between 4 and 6 p.m. on the final ski day, but can be arranged for the next day at no additional charge if it is in by 10 a.m. or earlier.

The company’s 2016-17 equipment includes new Rossignol snowboards and 7-series skis with new Rossignol bindings and boots for both skis and snowboards. This gear will be offered at all Ski Butlers locations, so re-renting at any location is quick and simple, with each location having access to customer profiles from all their markets.

What does it cost? It depends on when and where you go. For example, the company’s rentals at Lake Tahoe area resorts in mid-December cost $41 to $66 a day for skis and $41 to $51 a day for snowboards, according to the website.
